As the only colonial-designed hotel on the island, this 5-star property exudes heritage and tradition.

Thanks to the newly constructed Mandara Toll Road, a bridge over the sea, reaching the resort from the airport now takes a mere 20 to 30 minutes. On the Conrad private beach, you can relax while witnessing the captivating spectacle of flying fish, banana rides, jet-skis, and parasailing boats, each providing an exhilarating rush of adrenaline. Nestled along the famed coastline of Seminyak, on one of Indonesia’s most renowned beaches, lies the W Retreat & Spa Bali. A mere 20-30 minutes (or 45 minutes during peak traffic) from the brand-new Bali Denpasar airport, this haven awaits. After a seamless landing and airport exit, our hosts graciously welcomed us, chauffeuring us to the hotel in a luxurious German SUV—our first glimpse into a realm of impeccable refinement. The onboard vehicle, complete with Wi-Fi for those needing to catch up on emails or social networks, provided refreshments and fresh fruits, elevating our transfer to a pleasurable experience.

Strategically positioned within a brief ten-minute drive from the heart of Abu Dhabi City, our initial approach to the property left us awestruck by its impressive contemporary architecture and expansive scale. The first moments upon arrival left a lasting impact; we couldn’t help but be captivated by the well-lit and spacious lobby adorned with a collection of intricately suspended glass ornaments from the ceiling.

REVIEWED: SOFITEL THE PALM JUMEIRAH, DUBAI, UAE

Nestled on the eastern Crescent of The Palm, the sheer grandeur of Sofitel evokes the essence of a resort reminiscent of those found in the Americas. A majestic entrance leads to an expansive lobby adorned with captivating water features on either side. The décor exudes opulence, with a “green wall” alive with real tropical flora growing along the back of the hotel. The service is both efficient and welcoming, and the staff is abundant to cater to the guests’ needs. However, the layout can be a tad confusing in some areas – a few additional signs would be helpful, especially when navigating to their spa, an experience you won’t want to miss.

REVIEWED: SHERATON SHARJAH BEACH RESORT AND SPA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Located directly by the sea, the hotel boasts an exceptional setting and directly faces the beautiful waterfront and Al Muntazah Beach connecting the emirates of Sharjah and Ajman.

The Sheraton Sharjah Resort & Spa is built in a typical Emirati style. The building’s architecture resembles the homes and villages of the early years of the country. Those familiar with Dubai’s Bastakiya district will recognize the distinctive style of the sand-colored historic buildings with their characteristic wind towers.

The hotel consists of 349 rooms and suites spread across a main building and two wings. In the middle, you’ll find the resort’s two pools and the waterfront with a private beach.
